Though I usually have only seen like one of the movies nominated for Best Picture in the Oscars, I love watching it. And as usual, I really enjoyed it. I don't know enough about the movies or even about the actors or actresses to comment any more than that, really. I was very happy for Matthew McConaughey (surprised, but happy) for winning Best Actor, and really excited that "12 Years a Slave"won Best Picture. And I have always been a big fan of Ellen, so I thought she killed it.

Probably my favorite part of the whole night, however, was one quote. One quote from an actress I honestly had only heard a few things about, but one that I fell in love with and would really like to see more often.

"No matter where you're from, your dreams are valid." -Lupita Nyong'o

So true. So simple. So beautiful. There may be huge trials that you have to face, there may be challenges that you will think you can't get past, you may fail over and over again, and honestly, you may not be able to reach your goal for some (but probably very valid) reason. But NEVER let anyone tell you it cannot be done before you even start. No one can see into the future, so no one has the right to tell you what you can or cannot do. And if you work hard towards a dream that is going to better yourself or the world around you, there is no reason that dream won't come true, unless it is the will of God. I truly believe that.
